The People of the Amazon River Basin consist of three groups: the local fishing villages, the indigenous tribes, and uncontacted tribes. BIMI hosts yearly "medical-connect" trips to minister to this region. While not every Christian is called to full-time global missionary service, the Amazon med-connect trips allow for short-term ministry and unforgettable memories.

 

Our Med-Evangelism Team assists local missionaries and national pastors in evangelism outreach and helps build relationships in new villages for future church plants. The Amazon is one of the least evangelized regions of Latin America. Our team is involved in organized mass evangelism and provides personalized treatment via mobile med clinics. Often, medical care is the tool God uses to soften otherwise cold hearts. Villages that have a church plant today were often the recipient of a prior medical-connect clinic.
