Dear Friends and Supporters,

Thank you for your ongoing prayers and support! These past few months have brought some busy but productive updates. I have enjoyed missions conferences and several individual meetings across Oregon and Washington with the addition of several new church partners. I am grateful to report my support is approximately 95%!  In addition to my deputation schedule, the Lord allowed me to take a brief survey trip to São Paulo, Brazil, to visit several ministries and language school options. It was a very informative trip and a true blessing to spend my Easter in Brazil with dear missionary friends! Prayerfully, I have selected the specific city and language school in which I hope to start out; I will be working closely with my field director over the upcoming summer months to complete my visa application and finalize my departure date plans.

Amazon Medical Missions Trip

At the end of May, the Lord allowed me to take part in the first of two planned medical missions trips to the Amazon. This first trip included 30 team members in addition to three national pastors and three local missionary families. We enjoyed hosting medical clinics in 6 villages with 673 individuals coming through. We rejoice over the 51 individual salvation decisions that were made during these clinics! Please pray the local missionaries and national pastors will be able to see continued fruit as they follow-up with these new believers.

As a special blessing, I was able to use my wound care training to provide care for several patients that came through our clinics with prominent wounds. This included a severe hand burn as well as the removal of a botfly larva from an infected tropical ulcer. I am thankful for the training that allowed me to offer help in these instances.

The final night of this trip included a divine appointment I was not expecting. While visiting with a missionary friend, we heard a loud crash outside of her house. We went outside to find two teenage girls had just crashed their motorcycle.

While both girls were not seriously injured, they still suffered multiple abrasions; both were very shaken up and scared. While treating their scrapes, we were able to talk with them and share the Gospel with them. The sisters were tearful and eagerly listened to the entire presentation. They seemed to understand the gravity of the situation and just how much God had protected them. Their accident could have been far worse given the poor road conditions that night. The oldest sister, Luci, seemed especially interested in the verses. Unfortunately, before the girls had a chance to make a decision, their family arrived to pick them up. Please pray for both sisters and that God’s Word would not go void in their lives.

Thank you for your faithful support and friendship. I am especially grateful for those of you who donated supplies for the Amazon trip and helped provide for my individual travel cost. These trips would not be possible without you! I love sharing the stories of these trips with you. It is truly “fruit that may abound to your account” as Paul said in Philippians 4:17.

I am honored and grateful to partner together with you all!

Best,

Sarah
