Dear Friends and Supporters,

Thank you for your ongoing support and prayers! I am thankful for the opportunity to share the highlights from the past two months--both stateside as well as from my mission field of the Amazon River Basin.

Amazon Medical-Connect Trip

ree

This past month, God allowed me the privilege to take part in a medical missions trip to the Amazon River Basin with a team from my mission board, BIMI. This trip brought together 26 team members from the US, Brazil, and Colombia to host a series of mobile "pop-up clinics" in the Amazon. We were invited to 6 villages, including a remote indigenous village. These clinics worked in tandem with the efforts of local missionaries and a national pastor. The Lord allowed us to see over 700 individuals come to our mobile clinics. We also rejoice over the 58 salvations resulting from the week!

I would like to highlight several unique blessings from this trip. One village, San Martin, is an indigenous village of the Tikuna tribe. Prior to 2019, this tribe was overtly hostile and closed to outsiders. Over the past few years, with time and God's grace, they have become more accepting and welcoming. We visited this village for a second time this past month and they now have a small group of Tikuna believers working to grow their own church. Although this tribe is still known for abusive ceremonial practices-- particularly towards children--new families are slowly starting to leave these practices as they see the love of Christ. The village leadership has a good relationship with our medical-evangelism teams and they have invited us back for more future outreach days!

A second major blessing was the testimony of the Catholic priest from one of the villages. Juan is currently in very poor health and it is believed that he is in his final days. He was alone and in a state of fear over his imminent death. Several of our team men visited him during our outreach day and were able to share the Gospel and spend time praying with him. We rejoice in Juan's salvation and the spiritual peace and healing he is experiencing. Please pray he is able to share his decision with his village.

Divine Appointment

In addition to the Amazon Connect trip, I am thankful for the opportunity I had to personally share my faith. During an Uber ride from the airport, God allowed me to meet Petr. At the time, this Uber ride was a huge inconvenience, but after just a few minutes of talking, I quickly realized what a divine appointment this ride was. Petr was from Eastern Europe and had immigrated to the US after a very violent life in his younger years. Now an older man, he was venting his frustrations over several of his fears and disappointments. He asked me point-blank how I feel any hope for the future. I was able to share my testimony and by the end of our ride, he had prayed and placed his faith in Christ. There was a visible new peace on his face when we said our goodbyes. Please pray for Petr to become connected to a good local church for continued support. I was able to leave some contact information with him.

Upcoming Months

ree

After taking part in several more conferences and meetings, the Lord has increased my overall support to just over 33%. This was a huge encouragement! I am currently preparing for BIMI's second-year candidate school in the second week of June. This will allow some additional training and preparation for my mission field. I am also looking forward to several deputation meetings throughout June and July. Thank you for your ongoing friendship and support. I am thankful to partner together!

In Christ,

Sarah Goodman, Psalm 67:2
