August-September Prayer Letter Update

Dear Friends and Supporters,

Thank you for your ongoing support and prayers! The past two months have been busy, and I’ve been looking forward to sharing my updates.

Amazon-Connect Bolivia

August marked my final Amazon Med-Connect trip of the year. This trip was an important milestone for BIMI’s Amazon for Christ ministry. We have always held the goal of establishing this ministry in all 9 of the Amazonian countries. This year, we were excited to take this ministry to Bolivia. Partnering with 6 national churches, a Bible Institute, and several missionary families, we were excited to have 738 people come through our medical outreaches. This resulted in 85 one-on-one salvation decisions! These results were encouraging, and God has paved the way for more Med-Connect outreaches in this area in future years. It was a true blessing to be part of this inaugural trip to Bolivia

A "Great Affliction"

While seeing patients during this recent Amazon-Connect trip, the Lord brought an elderly gentleman, Susano, through my station. As I collected his medical history, I noticed how

upset he seemed. We continued talking, and he mentioned he had very poor appetite and little energy. He described this feeling as “a great affliction” over him. Eventually, I learned that his wife had passed away recently and he had turned to alcoholism as a means of self-medicating his grief. As a result, his children and family shunned him. As he began crying, tears came to my own eyes. I brought him to one of our national pastors for counsel.

Although this man had come to our clinic for what he believed was a physical ailment, it was clear that this was a spiritual concern. Many hours later as we were wrapping up our clinic, I spotted Susano eagerly shaking hands and smiling from ear to ear. He looked like a

completely new man! Susano’s problems will not necessarily be solved in a day, but he found Christ and he now has the tools he needs for spiritual healing.

Deputation Travels

The Lord has blessed my deputation schedule and I have enjoyed being in numerous meetings over the past 2 months. Right after arriving back in the States, I had meetings in Oregon and Washington with several new churches pledging their support. I finished up September back in Texas for several final meetings to close out the month.

After completing the past two months, I am excited to share that my support has risen to 46%. This is an encouragement and answer to prayer! These new supporting churches are dear, as several of them are just launching their missions programs. It’s an honor to be one of their first missionaries. As a special blessing, I enjoyed being able to witness to a young man during a door-to-door visitation opportunity. While this man knew a great deal of the Gospel, he came to see that he had never personally accepted the gift of Salvation. His excitement was very visible as he prayed and accepted Christ. I passed his contact along to the host church and I am praying he will be able to get connected soon.

Upcoming Months

I will be spending the upcoming Fall months in conferences and individual meetings in 6 different states. Although my travel schedule is very tight, I am excited about these opportunities and eager to finish this year strong!

In Christ,

Sarah Goodman, Psalm 67:2
