Dear Friends and supporters,
Thank you for your ongoing prayers and support! These past few months have brought a variety of travel opportunities as well as increased support. I am extremely thankful for my current supporters as well as several new partners from these past summer months. With God’s help, I am currently at 98% . I am finalizing my departure date plans for early January to coincide with the start date of my language school.
July allowed me to travel to Tennessee to assist with a week-long missions intensive, Camp BIMI, hosted by my mission board. This missions camp is open to anyone interested in finding where they “fit” in missions--both worldwide and local. I spent some key time with my director and wife to assist with representing the South American and Brazilian mission fields. It was exciting seeing so much interest and excitement for missions. Camp BIMI played an important role in confirming God’s will of full-time missions in my life in 2021. I was honored and grateful to assist with this years’, particularly now as I am completing my own deputation journey.
Amazon Medical Missions Trip
I recently returned from my final medical missions trip of the year. The Lord allowed our team of 26 to visit the Amazon country of Guyana. Partnering with local missionaries and national churches, we hosted 7 medical outreaches in indigenous communities. We served 478 patients over the course of 10 days. God allowed us to be part of 51 personal salvation decisions! This was miraculous given the strong and oppressive Muslim and Hindu influences that pervade this specific region. In particular, we served one village that is known as the “suicide capitol” of South America. This was a sobering opportunity but a great blessing to serve in this region. I was especially grateful for the 2 ladies with which I was personally able to speak. While Denise did not trust Christ, we had a sweet conversation and it was clear she was very burdened. As a Hindu, she stated that she prays to 3 gods but does not believe they care for her. I believe she will eventually place her trust in Christ, but please be in prayer as she is very ill and does not have much remaining time. I am grateful and excited to share that, Naimoon, the second lady with which I spoke did accept Christ!
Months Ahead
I will be completing my final scheduled deputation meetings over the course of the next few months as well as beginning the process of finalizing my affairs and packing. My final meetings will take me to Oklahoma, Utah, and Rhode Island. Please be in prayer for the packing process in between these meetings. Also, thank you for you faithful prayers regarding my nurse practitioner schooling. As of July, I completed my first full term in good standing! I am hard at work on my second term and God is already blessing. I would greatly appreciate prayer as I am beginning the process of scheduling the completion of my clinical hours. While these hours will not be needed until 2026, my program is requiring that I finalize the specific providers with which I hope to train under. If you know of any medical providers (nurse practitioner or physician) willing to serve as a potential preceptor, I would appreciate the contacts!
Thank you for your faithful support and friendship! God has been so faithful this summer and I am excited for these final months of 2024.
I am honored and grateful to partner together with you all!
Best,
Sarah
